Download new recordings
Pulls every new clip and image from Blink's cloud. With a Sync Module 2 and a USB drive, it also collects clips that were only ever saved locally.
For Blink cameras · macOS
Blink Sync downloads your recordings to a folder once a day and takes a fresh still from every camera on a schedule, armed or not. It runs from the menu bar and keeps working when the menu bar app is closed.
Snapshot round · 14:15
Each round wakes a camera, asks it for a photo, and waits until the new image has actually uploaded before saving it. If a camera never sends a new picture, that round skips it instead of saving the old one again.
What it does
Your recordings stop living only in someone else's cloud. They land in a folder you choose, sorted by camera and date, with names you can search.

Every houror 15 min to 12 h
Works whether the system is armed or not, and never arms anything. You can limit it to certain hours and certain cameras.
On demandfrom the menu bar
The icon changes from ◉ to ◌ while a run is in progress. If a run fails, an alert shows the last lines of the error.
After a missed runsleep, travel, outage
Each sync looks back two days, not one, so a night the Mac was asleep is picked up the next time. Files it already has are never downloaded twice.
Resident memory
macOS starts the scheduled jobs and they exit when they are done. The menu bar is only a remote control, so you can quit it and nothing stops.
0MB
Scheduled jobs between runs. They start, work for about a second, then exit.
~78MB
The menu bar app, if you keep it open. It never connects to Blink itself.
~50MB
A single run, for as long as it takes. The same whether it downloads 1 clip or 400.
Your password
It is never written to disk in plain text. Later runs sign in with a token and only use the password if Blink asks again.
Setup
Sign in, confirm the code Blink sends you, and pick a folder. Help is built into the app.
Failures
An unreachable camera or a broken clip is logged and skipped. The rest of the run carries on.
Blink Sync is a personal project, so there's no download here. If you'd like to use it or have questions about how it works, send me a note.
